Fall 2026: A Fresh New Look for Yogic Studies
Oct 27, 2026
Your home for study is the same as ever, now with an updated design and new features: a redesigned website, a new course library, every podcast episode in one place, and a new way to study inside each course.
The Fall 2026 term at Yogic Studies is now underway, bringing a remarkable range of offerings: from the sacred architecture of the Deccan to a new critical edition and translation of the Haį¹hapradÄ«pikÄ with Dr. James Mallinson; from our Buddhist Studies graduate seminar to the first term of our language sequences in Sanskrit, PÄli, Tibetan, Hindi, and Latin.
In our spring survey, many students shared thoughtful reflections on how the platform itself could serve them better. Over the past few months we have redesigned the website, rebuilt the course library, brought all three of our podcasts home to yogicstudies.com, created new profiles for our faculty, and begun introducing a new course experience, one course at a time. Here is a short tour.
A redesigned Yogic Studies
Yogic Studies now offers more than 100 courses and 1,000 hours of teaching, 87 podcast episodes, and 50+ instructors. Here are five changes you will notice the next time you visit.

A new layout inside each course. We have redesigned the space where you actually do your studying. Each course now opens to a clear home page: your next lesson front and center, an outline that keeps your place, and a card for this week's live sessions, with meeting times shown in Pacific time or your own. The syllabus and readings are one click away, and a small badge tells you when there is a new announcement. The new design debuted with YS 220, and we will be bringing it to every course over the coming weeks.
Your library. Everything you are studying, in one place. Pick up where you left off, see what is coming up, follow your certificate programs, and search or filter all of your courses by subject and status.
All three podcasts, now on our site. Every episode of the Yogic Studies, Sanskrit Studies, and Buddhist Studies podcasts: watch or listen, with guest profiles, show notes, and related courses.
Meet our faculty. New profiles for our 50+ instructors, with biographies, selected publications, the courses they teach, and their podcast conversations.
Clearer course pages and schedules. Every course page has been redesigned, and the academic calendar can now show each meeting time in your own time zone.

YS Book Club: Yogalands
This term’s YS Book Club read is Yogalands: In Search of Practice on the Mat and in the World by Paul Bramadat (2025). Scholar and longtime practitioner Paul Bramadat draws on his own practice and conversations with hundreds of teachers and students across the US and Canada to ask what yoga really means to people in the modern West: its unspoken religious dimensions, its relationship to trauma, and the debates over appropriation and authenticity that shadow it.
Read along with us and join Dr. Anna Lee White for a live discussion at the end of term. The Book Club is free for YS members.
